My iPhone Apps – Part 2

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

Eid Mubarak to all of you reading this post.. May Allah grant you all lives full of peace and love… & for all of you who managed to fast the day of Arafa,  and to the lucky ones who went to Haj this year,
تقبل الله طاعتكم

I promised to post the second part of my iPhone Apps collections right after my exams, but to be honest, there’s no before or after this semester… i’ve been having exams on daily basis which is stressing every cell in me! I just hope these last semesters pass by quickly before i loose myself & mind..

Anyways, this is the second batch of the Apps that i use (click here for Part 1).. I’m sure there will be a part 3 or more, because i cannot stop downloading and installing apps every single day! lets get into the list:

13) Word Play Online

wordplay IMG_0193 IMG_0194

I am starting with this app because literally, I am addicted to this game, i just cannot stop playing it.. my mind keeps on matching up words all day long, despite the fact that until now, i have earned almost 8 wins and over 230 losses! lol with this app you are able to play with other online users around the world and challenge & chat with them. the game also shows you all the possible words from a specific table.

14) Ping!

a very simple Push messenger that allows you to add people using their unique ID’s and receive their messages just the way you receive SMS on your iPhone. it’s free & will keep on recieving the push messages as long as you’re on your wifi or 3G connection. very clean interface and you view the messages between you & yours friends as a conversation, again, just like the iPhone SMS system.

15) Birthdays

if you’re like me, unable to memorize birth dates nor remember what zodiac sign your friend falls under, this is a good app. After updating it with you’re friends & family’s details, it’ll calculate exactly after how many days their birthday is up, & how old they’ll turn. it’s annoying though that it doesnt have some kinda alarm or notifier.

it hurts

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

It really hurts to see such devoted Muslims, suddenly leaving Islam, & for what? for really lame reasons, usually centered around details of their every day life.

Maybe it’s just easier not to be Muslim? i mean, you don’t have to pray, you don’t have to cover your hair as a female, you don’t have to stop drinking & dating & all that jazz…

But wait a minute? people convert to a certain religion because they WANT to do these things, they want such discipline in their lives…

Why is religion considered to be a type of oppression to some people?

Some say the concept of “Heaven & Hell” just doesn’t seem right to them.. Cruel maybe? unfair?
if you worship Allah, you go to heaven
if you do not worship Allah, you go to hell… that doesn’t sound sweet?

Well it’s as simple as this… you study hard, you get a good grade, & if you don’t study, then simply, YOU DONT DESERVE A GOOD GRADE! why should someone be granted something they did not work for nor earn???…

Why should a pious, God fearing human being be deprived from Jannah? or better, why should he be equaled to that other human being who lived his entire life according to his own made up beliefs & desires, excluding God from it.. as if he himself was not created by a Superior power.. where did you come out from you who deny the existence of God? a Kinder Surprise egg?!

and they say there’s no proof that God exists, i won’t even go into proving this because honestly put, if you see no proof, your not sight blinded, not really, you’re just heart blinded… which if you don’t know, is even worse..

22_46

“Have they not travelled through the land, and have they hearts wherewith to understand and ears wherewith to hear? Verily, it is not the eyes that grow blind, but it is the hearts which are in the breasts that grow blind.”

you know, i can personally say:

“Khalas, no more Islam, no more any religion, i will be a good person & live my life accordingly”

everyone can say that, sounds very FREEDOM like and perfect.. but just give this a thought…. How can you know that what you believe in is really considered right? i mean, what are you going to compare it with? law? ethics? culture? if so, you’ll never really reach a conclusion, every humanbeing has a certain belief of right & wrong.. i may believe stealing is bad, whereas to you, it’s good, in a sense where by stealing you can feed a hungry person or animal…. see the conflict? there’s never really a standard, every culture has a different perception of right & wrong,, good  & bad…

This is why we need religion, without it, what makes us any different from animals? (even animals worship God!!)

what gives us a limit to what we do or say? without limitations, we’ll be well heck of a mess!!… and pleeeease don’t go on telling me the sky is the limit and all those superficial statements.. every single organization has policies and rules, every school & university have a set of rules which we as student must follow, and actually most of the time we follow without question. So why become so bothered about the fact that in any religion you are expected to follow certain beliefs and practices??…..

Religion, despite which, is a way of life… it makes us behave.. it makes us human beings.. it gives us a reason to exist… everyone wants to know what would happen to them after they die, who doesn’t question this? you may say, nothing, nothing’s gonna happen, just peace, silence for eternity … another might believe she’ll go up to the clouds and just sit there like an angel and watch over the living ones….!

I simply say, who am i to decide what’ll happen to me?.. did i create myself? no i didn’t… you control what school your kids shall go to, don’t you? Yes you will ask for thier opinions but at the end of the day, as a parent, you believe you know whats best for your kid & it is you the parent who’ll make the decision…….

if not God, He Who created us, then who shall decide what our ending should be?…

Unless you come from a kinder surprise egg, i have nothing to add ..

if you follow a faith, don’t stop looking into other religions, it’ll make you either realize where the truth lies, with Allah’s guidance… or if you trully and fully believe you’re on the right track, it’ll only make you more convinced…

on the other hand, if you’re faithless, then excuse me, but you really do seem to come from a Kinder Egg … go Google yourself to see who manufactured you, SEE!!, even the toys in there WERE CREATED !! God, give me patience to bear all this

Did I tell you that I’m almost done reading The Google Story?… I actually enjoyed the book , it has lots of tips & insights, but it’s kinda biased towards Google, a bit more than it should be….
