The 20 book marathon for 2012

January 22nd, 2012

I hate that it’s taking me forever to wipe the dust off this place! time is scarce, but i HAD TO come back for an announcement that is already too late. I’ve been planning a reading competition since last year but never managed to prepare it well, but now I have no excuse to delay it any further. I’ve been discussing it with miracle, who God bless her has been nagging and reminding me daily. Now that i have a
few minutes on hand, let me tell you what its all about.

What’s the compition about?

READING, what else? :P you’ll be required to finish 20 books before the end of 2012. 20 might be a big number for some, and a small number for those blessed with time to read, but however, the number is fixed.

What books should I read?

any book, from cover to cover. and it could be in any language of your choice. But please make sure you read from different categories, fiction, classics, self-help etc.. Go for topics you enjoy the most.

How would you know I’ve read them all?

Conscious. I’m sure my dear readers are honest ones. other than that, you’ll be required to fill in a form with the book details you’ve finished. Title, Author, date finished & most importantly, a summery with your own words (in Either Arabic or English, i don’t master any more languages XD). most readers are used to documenting such information, & those who havent been doing so in the past will experience the pleasure of building a list of books

What should I do once I’ve finished all 20 books?

Inform me. First one to inform me will be THE WINNER of the competition! you’ll be required to immediately drop me an email on [dxb@dxb-girl.com] with the form attached. or you can always direct message on my twitter.

Who’s eligiable?

Anyone, from anywhere in the world, the love of words knows no boundaries. So spread the word among your family &

If i won, what will be my prize?

You’ll receive a Kindle book reader, the one of your choice, completely free of charge! if you havent heard of the kindle, then its an ebook reader that works on ink technology, meaning the screen is PERFECT for long periods of reading where your eyes wont be looking into a LED or LCD screen, but an ink based paper like screen, i never thought ill manage to read through an ebook reader, but the kindle stole my heart since the first use <3. ofcourse it'll never replace an actual paper back but for people who want their entire library in thier pockets then this is a charm. My favorite thing about it is the black & white display & none reflective screen. This is the one miracle & I have, but the winner will have the option to choose the version they desire!

oh comon don't you want one? :D

If you do, start the 20 book marathon!

September 27th, 2011

20110927-230513.jpg

Just when i thought i’ll be able to update more frequently, i find myself hit by the fact that newborns are masters at stealing ones time >_<, first it was said that the first month is the hardest, then the second, then the third? Well i personally doubt theres any difference :P.. I wish from deep down inside my fat heart that I get the time to update as often as i desire *raises hands in prayer*
Ameen!
